New Years: Fill the Gap, Drop the Ball
Comments
Leave a commentThis is a MUST SEE event. This fireworks display design takes advantage of the architecture and shoots many sparklers from the corners of the octagonal building. The effect is more 3-D than the typical single-point or linear disply. Stunning against the white terra cotta.
The Buffalo News also stated that "Canadian Ballet" impresario Rick Snowden, owner of the semi-famous Rick's Tally-Ho, also threw down some money to make this event possible. A big thanks to Mister Snowden and his family as well...
I was beside myself when I heard the news this was going to be cancelled because of fundning; glad it isn't since I planned my New Years around it. This is a great Buffalo tradition and event organization/logistics, fund raising, and corporate sponsorship needs to occur throughout the year. The idea of almost pulling the plug on this event two weeks before the New Year is unacceptable.
Does anyone else think it's idiotic that UNYTS is funding this? If I gave money to UNYTS, I would like to think it was actually funding transplant services or research.

Pass the hat at this year's drop. At a meager $1 a head, that could bring in $40K.
