Gingerbread...Gifts...Glitz, Gilda's Club of WNY's annual holiday fundraiser was held over the weekend and welcomed a record number of guests. Held in the stunning Delaware Avenue Mansion, home to Gilda's Club, it's a fantastic holiday tradition for many. Local artisans provided a warm and intimate holiday marketplace; the scent of hot cocoa and Christmas cookies filled the air, and children oohed and aahed over the luxurious miniature houses crafted by professionals, amateurs and students alike.
Here is a slideshow offering a glimpse at just a few of the remarkable gingerbread creations that greeted visitors.
Many prizes were given out in each division, far too many for us to reasonably keep track of while visiting the bustling displays. The professional submissions were mind-blowing, but equally surprising was the quality of entries from local high school students. Some of them were interesting enough to make it into our final selection of images here for you to enjoy.
If you've never been to "Gingerbread...Gifts...Glitz," look for it next year. The gingerbread auction, artisan marketplace and preview cocktail party are all fantastic ways to support this very worthwhile organization.
