Dance the Darkness Away

Dance the Darkness Away

By Amanda Grabyszak

The Spiral Dance, also known as the Grapevine Dance and the Weavers Dance, is performed as a group and involves music, clapping, and all-together merriment. It is an Earth-Based tradition, performed as a group dance with an emphasis on bringing in the community.

The Winter Solstice marks the return of light during the darkest season, and what better way to celebrate than a dance?

The First Annual Spiral Dance featuring Kellianna (see article from The Pagan Review) and the Dragon Ritual Drummers will be taking place tonight, December 18th, 8PM at Asbury Hall at Babeville, 341 Delaware Avenue.

The Dragon Ritual Drummers of Southern Ontario will perform with Tribal Drums, horns, and ancient musical instruments. Kellianna is an internationally known SpiritSong leader, performing chants and folk music at Goddess conferences as distant as Glastonbury, England.

Doors open at 5:30PM. Tickets are $15.00 in advance, and $20.00 at the door only.

The event is non-denominational and people of all ages are welcome.

For more information, go to: spiraldancebflo.com. Tickets purchased at the door are cash-only.
