Buffalo First's All Local Coupon Book is ready for purchase, featuring businesses owned by people who live in - and love - Western New York. Priced at just $15, it contains over $4,000 in savings through 200 of Western New York's best local businesses and attractions.
Buffalo First Director Amy Kedron explains the importance of the 2nd annual book, saying "Consumer spending makes up 70 percent of the US economy, and every time someone shops at a locally-owned business, 3 times more money is re-spent in Western New York. So the aim of the Local Coupon Book is to kick-start the economy by encouraging wise and local spending."
The Local Coupon Book features great coupons for some of Buffalo's most popular home-grown places including: the Burchfield Penny Art Center, Talking Leaves Books, the Lexington Co-Op, Amy's Place, GiGi's and Dipson Theatres. Businesses in the book hail from South Buffalo to Clarence. And coupons range from the practical to the whimsical; enjoy $10 off an oil change at Joe's Service Center, or get a free goldfish at Steve's Pets.
The coupon books make great holiday gifts, and also contain a 30-page local guide, featuring full-page photos of some of the area's best attractions. Not a bad read for locals or visitors. Take a look inside the book here.
Kedron says, "If our region is going to grow we need to put our money where our house is and invest in our community whenever we can. That's what this coupon book is all about."
Available at over 100 local retailers, a complete list of vendors can be found at the Buffalo First web site. Schools and organizations can also order books directly through the site to sell as fundraisers.
Buffalo First Inc. is a local nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger, healthier local economy. It has worked with nearly 400 businesses in Western New York and encourages the public to "think local first".
