How awesome was the weather this week?  Someone tell Mother Nature she's doing a bang-up job.

Thursday, November 12

-The second annual Tour de Vine 2009 hosted by Computers for Children hits the Hyatt Regency tonight.  A variety of Buffalo and WNY restaurants will offer a variety of foods and wines.  Live music by Jazz Miracles.  $40 advance, $75 couples.  6 PM to 10 PM.

-Nichols School begins their Fall play, "Arabian Nights."  Runs through the 14th at the Flickinger Performing Arts Center.  7 PM.  $5.

-Mode Restaurant, 520 Elmwood Avenue, and yours truly invite you to kick off this weekend the right way with Thursday Night Comedy.  Features some of Buffalo's top comedy talent.  9:30 PM.  $5.



Friday, November 13

-Scholars at Muse invites you to "Ireland and the Problem of Information" by Damien Keane.  Muse Restaurant, 1285 Elmwood Avenue.  4 PM.  FREE, limited seating.



Saturday, November 14

-The Tralf invites you to enjoy N'Dambi.  Described as "a songwriter with emotional purpose and rare honesty," N'Dambi is an underground sensation and former backup singer for Eryikah Badu.  Tickets here.  7 PM doors, 8 PM show.  21+.

-Soundlab invites you to see NINJASONIK with special guests Communist Party, Sir Richard Rector, and Flava Braun.

-Tree Planting by the Olmsted Parks Conservancy takes place from 9 AM to 12 PM, Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, Cazenovia Park, and Heacock Place.  Call 838-1249 ext 15 to volunteer.

-Gallery 164, 164 Allen Street, invites you to "Motherbaby International Film Festival," a film festival that features amazing footage of pregnancy, birth, and babies.  Only "eye-opening, soul-nourishing video" allowed.  7:30 PM.  $10 donation.


Sunday, November 15

-The Alt Theatre, 255 Great Arrow Drive, invites you to see Bill Evans Buffalo Rhythm Tap Dance Jam.  $15, 3:30 PM.

-VIVE, Inc, hosts its 7th Annual Freedom Bowl at the Canisius College Student Center.  VIVE helps to resettle refugees from all over the world.  The Freedom Bowl includes food and provides the opportunity to hear stories from refugees who've settled in Buffalo.  12 noon to 3 PM.  $50 general admission, $20 for students.  Call 892-4354 ext. 402 for tickets.

-The Buffalo Youth Media Institute invites you to view highlights from their work over the past 4 years.  Highlights include a magical tour of Forest Lawn Cemetery, a poem about graffiti, ode to the grain elevators, and more.  3 PM at the Market Arcade Arts Center.  $10 admission, $25 supporter (includes free DVD or t-shirt), $50 patron (free DVD or t-shirt).  Call 884-7172 or email dorothea@squeakywheel.org to attend.

-The 2009-2010 Perry's Ice Cream Free Family Film Series begins at Shea's with Steven Spielberg's Hook.  2 PM.  FREE.  Email jmorales@sheas.org for ticket information.

-The Sportsmen's Tavern, 326 Amherst Street, invites you to enjoy Heather Myles, "a throwback to when Merle, Tammy, and Loretta controlled the country airwaves with well crafted songs about real people and real emotions."  4 PM.  $20.
