Everyone's favorite mounted sheriff, Wayne Wolf, is back at it with a seasonal slant on keeping his off-duty horse gainfully employed.

As explained in this Buffalo Rising Magazine article by Lynn Roberson, the horses within the Sheriff's Mounted Reserve Unit are owned by the officers, and are not paid for or covered under county funds. The yearly $4K and up to keep a horse cared for and healthy is a big ticket, but Wolf has found ways for the horses to help pay for their own upkeep through Pony Xpression.
Not only will Wayne and friend(s) make their rounds for special occasions (Christmas, Valentines Day, etc.), but the horses also churn out work each and every day toward the manufacture of some of the highest quality gardening aids - that Wolf sells year-round. (Not to worry, Pony Xpression horses come diapered.)
Whether you want to make the best of a holiday occasion, or surprise the kids with a visit from Santa, with or without horse, Wolf asks that each person who books Pony Xpression for a job also makes a contribution to either the Food Bank of WNY or a legitimate breast cancer organization. Wayne can be reached at 716.652.7339.

sweet!
random, unrelated thought. i wonder how the $4k annual price tag for one horse compares to the annual price tag to keep one sheriff's vehicle on the road.
