RIVERKEEPER Wants You to 'Party for Clean Water'

RIVERKEEPER Wants You to ‘Party for Clean Water’
Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER has been protecting our areas waterways for 19 years.  They want you to join them for their big 2-0 bash entitled "Party for Clean Water" at Pearl Street Brewery, November 21st, from 6 PM to 8 PM.

When the EPA issued a statement in the 1980s declaring 43 toxic "hot spots" on the Great Lakes, five citizens banded together to create "Friends of the Buffalo River."  Brian Higgins, Barry Boyer, Keith Martin, Lynda Schneekloth, and Ken Sherman incorporated their design to include the Niagara River as well, and dedicated themselves to protecting our waterways from pollution.  The group became Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER in 2005 after joining the international Waterkeeper Alliance.  They hope to begin remediation of contaminated sediments in 2010 with total cost estimates of $30 to $50 million.

The party will feature live music by Neville Francis and the Riddim Posse.  There will also be food and beverage, and a silent auction.  Pre-sale tickets available until tomorrow November 11.  $40 pre-sale, $45 from November 12 on and at the door, $30 if you're under 30 years old.  Call RIVERKEEPER at 852-7483 to purchase.

I have sent links to Buffalo River keepers on how to double their impact and footprint by using passive means to reduce toxins up to 50% or more using PHYTO-REMEDIATION TECHNIQUES.

WILL THEY INVESTIGATE IT?
