Leave a commentWhat's next? I hope he leaves town. I would hate to see him offered a position somewhere else in city hall or anything that is city or county related. That would be a crime and ignorant on anyone who hires him a position in such a field. Send him away.
The only idiot we need to worry about hiring him is podium man Brown. The question is, is Brown that stupid?
yeah it would be really cynical to suggest that brian traded his resignation for the promise of another government gig. but we've seen it before.
This is the first thing that he has done that I have even remotely respected. I am glad he took the high road and bowed out without the hype and media circus.
Hopefully Marilyn Rodgers is nominated and accepts!
I wish I was there to celebrate. This piece of ignorant trash helped make our life a living Hell and expidited our exit out of Buffalo. Now I only hope for my friends in Buffalo that the council puts someone in his seat that will fill the void and help to shoot down idiot number 2. Small window here people...grab it.
If you mean Byron "Same Old Politics With An African-American Face" Brown when you refer to "idiot number 2", then I'm with you all the way.
I would expect Davis to land a job on the staff of one of his allies.
The feds spent how many years investigating Philadelphia City Hall over this same crap? I think they'd find plenty under Lord Byron's rock.
Marilyn Rodgers will be good for the city and opposite of Brian Davis's activies.
Thanks for the nice comments. Just submitted.
It is clear you would be a great advocate for our city and I hereby bestow the much sought after but rarely awarded Blackrocklifer endorsement.
Really, Marilyn? That would be fantastic if you get this Council appointment! (Please, please, please let the city do just ONE thing right this year......)
Thanks again, folks. Now, say a prayer, chant, run in circles, whatever works. :-)
.
And, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me at mrodgersfcs@msn.com. I'm completely open and above board re: info, etc.
Go Marilyn!!! I did hear your name mentioned today on Channel 4 News!!! Good Luck, and go get 'em!!
I know I'm the "dark horse" in this race and not much of a snappy dresser or even a political expert, but I believe we need a complete turnover as far as representation here in the District.
.
What I have learned in the past year or so about politics has my head spinning. What is truly needed is the laying down of political sides with the concentration on what the people need now and for the future.
.
If we work smart and utilize the resources we already have we can create not only a better Buffalo, but a benchmark for cities nationwide.
.
Instead, innuendo wins over fact with no one asking the questions to stifle the art of political spin. This is unfortunate.
.
For the past nine years I have attempted to work with everyone in the system, no matter their status or affiliation. I can only say that this will continue.
.
I agree with the new system of vacancy selection and have hope that, no matter who the representative selected by the Council is, they are selected on their merits rather than who knows who or backroom deals. I am putting that trust in the remaining eight councilmembers.
.
We have codes, legislation, rules, regulations and more that, if enforced, would allow for a solid foundation of rebuilding. That is one of many ideals I will continue to promote whether or not selected.
.
And, although I haven't been highly visible in the past few months, I have been working with many others who are taking the bold step of community advocacy. We need to recognize that none of us is the end all and be all and others must join in and be trained in advocacy for the good of our community.
.
There's a neighborhood in the Cold Spring district that is wrought with crime - drugs, elder abuse, citizen intimidation. I received a call last night that these activities have stepped up again. With enforcement of our current legislation, this should not occur.
.
So, with that in mind, please remember we can all make a difference just by bringing issues like this to the attention of our government leaders while continuing to press them to action. I will, no matter the outcome of this selection process, and I hope you do, too.
.
No matter where we live or work, it is our city and we can all contribute to its future success.
.
I wish you all a happy holiday!
You have always been a tremendous advocate for the people. I respect that and wish you the best of luck in your campaign. You would have my vote if I lived in the Ellicott district. I'll do my best to influence my friends and family who do live in that district to vote for you. I feel it is the best choice.
