Biggest Bar Night of The Year!!

Biggest Bar Night of The Year!!
The night before Thanksgiving has long been considered the biggest bar night of the year.  Friends and family are in town and reunions are set.  But where are you going?

I've always divided the bar scene of Buffalo into three sections.  The first being downtown, a.k.a. Chippewa.  I don't go downtown, so I'm not quite sure why I ever gave it a name, but I know many of you will be heading there.  Midtown is Allen Street, including Mothers.  Uptown is all points surrounding Toro and Faherty's.  I have purposely kept the geographical distances close because these areas are all walking distance from me, especially considering the fact that I never go to "downtown".

So chances are good I will be spending my "biggest bar night of the year" in either midtown or uptown.  However, there are a few solid events that are worth checking out Wednesday Night.

First off is the amazing and talented singer Samantha Stollenwerck from the beaches of Santa Monica.  Sam is playing at the Mohwawk Place at 7pm.  She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice and in the interest of full disclosure, a personal friend of mine.  What brings her to Buffalo you may ask?  Her manager is an East Aurora native and has successfully converted Samantha into a true Buffalo fan.  She has played Thursday in the Square, Rockin the Harbor, and a bunch of smaller venues in and around Buffalo.

Next up is Kim Mitchell who will playing at the Tralf at 7pm.  Mitchell has had a long and successful career as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter spanning over 35 years. He is a true Canadian Rocker and well worth checking out if you are looking for some good music.

Chances are most of us will do our normal routine on Wednesday night, but if anyone has any other special events, please feel free to share them in the comments section or post them on the events page.  Have a blast and take a cab.  Nothing ruins Thanksgiving like waking up in jail.

Would that manager from East Aurora be Jeniffer Brazill?

Midtown and Uptown? Why don't you call it what everyone else in Buffalo does... Allentown and Elmwood. I've never heard anyone reply "Midtown" when asked where they were going out tonight.. unless of course, I was in Manhattan.

Toro is "uptown?" Wouldn't that be just Elmwood/E.V.? Goodbar would be the Bronx, and Hertel/N.Buff. would be Poughkeepsie...is the Heights somewhere in Western Massachusetts?

That would make Chippewa the "Harlem" of buffalo do to the frequent crimes. Is South Buffalo considered New Jersey then?

This is a fun analogy -- let's keep going...Cheektowaga can be Long Island, Clarence can be Connecticut, and Rochester can be Boston or Portland....

Okay, apologies to the original poster, all in good fun. Enjoy the night (and the holiday :)) all, and be safe! I'm just staying in tonight, prepping the house and food for tomorrow's feast.

On that note I'm heading to "Boston" to see a concert with my lady friend. I have never been into Thanksgiving Eve for going out. I am looking forward to cleaning up beer bottles and McDonalds wrappers off my front lawn tomorrow from the Chippewa gang bangers.

I guess I will be avoiding Harlem like the plague, as usual, prob. hit up midtown and the Bronx, with a little Poughkeepsie mixed in.

Midtown and Uptown...REALLY? Even the most savy Buffalonian would look at you odd saying that. Whats next SoDel and NoDeL? Half the Charm is the identities they have... The Elmwood Village, Chip Strip and Allentown.
