Amanda Giczkowski just opened the VAuLT on
Main near West Tupper last month, and she has a big weekend scheduled starting
this Friday at 7PM with the grand opening of the "Show Your Bones Halloween Art
Exhibit," featuring many local and regional artists, along with plenty of
entertainment and refreshments.
This is Giczkowski's first gallery owning/curating experience,
though she's been exhibiting her photography on a monthly basis and was looking
to find more places to exhibit her work. "This opportunity arrived in late
August, so by September 11th - Curtain Up! The Vault was introduced to the
Buffalo Theaters District," Giczkowski says. "I'm approaching the 2nd show opening, and I'm already
booking for February! Amazing I think..."
New work will be exhibited by Francisco
Amaya, Jackie Baldassara, Andrea Brough, Brian Cleggett, Amanda Giczkowski,
Mike Golner, Marilyn Hammer, Matthew Herrington, Candace Keegan, Sean Kulak,
Sean Madden, Mikeal Nicholas, Charlene Smerdon, Greg Sobzak, Skitchy and Ginny
Stewart.
On Friday, expect music by Blood Thirsty Vegans, Baby Blue Bird and many "surprises".
On Saturday October 24th at 9PM, see X-Planet Id, Buffalo-born artist Sean Madden's soul jazz fusion band. Madden is behind Robit Studios Madden says, "Robit is a unique enterprise, and the designs are insane--they're selling out west and in Thailand--very surreal and different." You might be familiar with his "Winky the Pill" and "BFF" T-shirt designs.
Both events are free and open to the public, though donations are greatly appreciated.
