Paladino Gets Prime Symphony Circle Site

Paladino Gets Prime Symphony Circle Site

The former Grace Manor Nursing Home has a new owner.  Ellicott Development's Carl Paladino was the high bidder at today's auction according to The Buffalo News.  Paladino got the property for $1.6 million, outbidding three other potential buyers.

Grace Manor is located at 10 Symphony Circle.  The facility is approximately 81,200 sq.ft. on 2.14 acres and has a 167 patient capacity.  Marketing material prepared by auctioneer Cash Cunningham described the site as ideal for student housing, a hotel, residential or assisted living.  It is unknown what Paladino has in mind for the property.

This could make for some pretty nice office or living spaces.

so should we now expect a typical Paladino renovation? Letting it rot until the rood collapses?

The building has a considerable kitchen. Paladino bought some of the more sizeable pieces that would be difficult to bring in. A bit surprising, but I think you could surmise that whatever the use, it has some component of prepared food. The building is in remarkably good condition.

By the way, don't let the news fool you... he purchased the first lot as well through a different individual/bidder number.

I am glad this building was sold before it decayed, I think that it will make a nice mixed use condos / rentals and hotel.

Of course this is Palladino so dont look for anything suprising.

It would be wonderful if he did something to the exterior that blended it more with the surrounding Symphony Circle.

For modern, how about changing the front facing Symphony Circle with a curving glass facade that bends with the circle.

Or perhaps something more period.

The building has great protential and he certainly got it for a great price...so why not do something to the exterior.

but then again...Palladino has not gotten around to the Graystone so who knows what he is thinking and what his priorities are...

A question for everyone: Who will emerge as the Donald Trump of Buffalo? When the economy turns around, which big buyer will have the greatest (improved of not improved)total value in strategic properties in the city?

I think Rocco should take over the Greystone, At least HE WILL get it renovated before it falls to the ground.

Rocco seriously looked at the Greystone a few years ago. He passed (this was after the hole in the roof). The biggest problem is figuring out whether there is structural damage to the concrete. It's a tough renovation, even assuming it can be done without having to tear half the structure down first.
