Buffalo's First Ever Science and Art Cabaret

Buffalo’s First Ever Science and Art Cabaret
Some of us group high school science class in with the darkest memories of our adolescent years.  If you're a member of that group, tomorrow's Science and Art Cabaret is for you.  That's right, even if science was your kryptonite, tomorrow's UB sponsored event will appeal to you!

"Science is creative," said Will Kinney, the UB professor responsible for the cabaret, "a lot of people forget that."

Kinney is a professor of cosmology, a discipline that studies our universe, including the Big Bang theory.  Tomorrow's event, set to take place at Asbury Hall 7 PM to 9 PM, will examine the way we study organisms and matter, scientific inquiry, and pair it with the arts.

Specialists from both scientific and art communities will be paired together to discuss how we learn about our world from the point of view of their specific fields.

"Our event will be fast-paced and fun," Kinney told me.  "We have music and poetry - no science background necessary."

They will also feature a live video feed for questions with a particle physics lab in Illinois.

Kinney's time in New York City serves as inspiration for his Buffalo version when he attended similar events there.
