Predict Bills - Texans Score, Win a Free Buffalo Rising Print
Fresh off a victory in Charlotte over Jake Delhomme (and the rest of the Panthers, I guess), the Bills will face the Houston Texans at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will get his second consecutive start as the Bills offense continues to search for an identity - and points.  With a win, the Bills could move back to .500.  The test, however, is whether the Bills can beat a team with a potent offense.  To date, the Bills have beaten the Bucs (ranked 28th in offense), the Jets (ranked 16th in offense) and the Panthers (ranked 20th in offense).  The Texans rank 10th in offense and have scored 29, 28, 21 and 24 points in their last 4 games.

As usual, the person who accurately predicts the final

Zombies R US
Participants of Buffalo's Zombie Walk congregated at Bidwell Parkway this afternoon at 1:30pm. I spotted them at Hodge and Elmwood fifteen minutes later, and shortly after that they were on their zigzagging way to Days Park in Allentown.

Over the years I've been less and less enthralled with Halloween. Maybe it's the 'been there done that' feeling that finally caught up with me. If there was ever an event to reinvigorate your love (or hate) of Halloween, the Zombie Walk would be it.

Rule #1 is 'no rocking cars'. That's in the Zombie Walk handbook. Really. That alone made me

Veda Yoga Space on Hertel
Lauren Willett-Benson is opening Veda Yoga Space at 1862 Hertel Avenue, Corner of Parker on November 7th, and she'd love for you to drop by.
A practicer of yoga for years, Willett-Benson's relationship with yoga intensified when a back injury derailed her from her teaching career.  Yoga, it could be said, brought her back, and now she's bringing it to the public in her beautifully renovated corner studio in North Buffalo.
"We'll be doing Hatha yoga, which is the basis for all other practices,"

Construction Watch: Main and Utica

Midtown Main Street is seeing a lot of positive activity recently.  One good example is the renovation of a two-story commercial building at the southeast corner of Main and Utica streets.  1373-81 Main Street is being turned into a small business incubator along with retail space by the Bethesda Community Development Corporation, an affiliate of the Bethesda World Harvest International Church.

Bethesda purchased the 17,200 sq.ft. building in 2007.  The church is located in the renovated circa-1914 Regent Theater next door to the incubator building.  Financing for

Invisible Children Documentary Comes to Buffalo!

In the spring of 2003, three young filmmakers traveled to Africa in search of a story. What started out as a filmmaking adventure transformed into much more when these boys from Southern California discovered a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them, a tragedy where children are both the weapons and the victims.

After returning to the States, they created the documentary "Invisible Children: Rough Cut," a film that exposes the

Sabres Choose Wisely in Easiest Decision in the History of the Sabres
In a decision that drew a sigh of relief from Sabres fans, Darcy Regier announced today that 19-year-old really good hockey player, Tyler Myers, will stay in the NHL.  What's even better, is that it will be with the Sabres!

Myers is +8 through 9 games with the Sabres, adding two goals and three assists, and seeing plenty of ice time.  He's been a staple on the blue line for the Sabres.

Playing 10 games in the NHL means losing Junior hockey eligibility, and at 19, Myers would have to play

Theological Thursdays: Evil
The Statler is a good building, but had those recently falling bricks landed on a passer-by, said passer-by would not be inclined to agree.

Let's pretend, just because it's a season for pretending and looking at the dark side of life, that those bricks did fall on a person.

Now, if they hit somebody you believe deserved it (don't name names!), you might claim it was divine judgment - God using a decaying building to right a wrong - so let's challenge ourselves a little
