Restaurant Week is Here!

Restaurant Week is Here!

Don't pack a lunch today; it's restaurant week in Buffalo and the region. Over 125 Western New York restaurants will participate in Local Restaurant Week - an event that offers diners incredible deals at some of the region's best restaurants for $20.09.

"This is the very best time of the year to be dining out," Peter Longo, President of the New York State Restaurant Association, WNY Chapter said. " With the bounty of our local harvest, the talent in our local, independent restaurants, we believe Local Restaurant Week offers an unparalleled opportunity for folks to get out in groups and enjoy the many fine restaurants in Western New York."

September's Local Restaurant Week is themed around independent restaurants, wineries and breweries. Each restaurant structures their dining deal at $20.09, and there are a wide variety of cuisine and local beverages for consumers to choose from. One such local beverage is Dundee Brewing, the Rochester - based brewer of fine craft beers, which is featuring its Oktoberfest and Pale Ale throughout Local Restaurant Week.

"Local Restaurant Week is about community," said Chef/Owner Mike Andrezjewski of Sea Bar Sushi in Buffalo, NY. "We reach out to the public and encourage them to try restaurants that they may not always go to, and discover new dining destinations. It energizes the entire industry and helps the business owner to generate new customers and dollars that go right back into the local economy. It's truly win-win."

For example, as one of the 125 restaurants, Mike will be offering $20.09 dinners all week, with lunch for two at $20.09 also. Sea Bar dinner as follows:

1st Course: Thai Shrimp and Coconut Curry Soup

2nd Course: Green Papaya and Vegetable Salad

3rd Course: Wild Striped Bass with Citrus-Ginger Sauce

Local Restaurant Week runs Monday to Monday, September 21 through September 28 all throughout Western New York. All of the participating restaurants are listed on www.localrestaurantweek.com. Patrons can search for restaurants by neighborhood, wine preference or beer preference.
