Charmaine Wheatley's exhibit, RAWR, features watercolor and collage drawings inspired by her work with Literacy Volunteers of Buffalo & Erie County, Inc. According to the organization, one in three residents of Buffalo is functionally illiterate. RAWR brings these shocking statistics and the experience of Literacy Volunteers to life, revealing how illiteracy affects freedom, self-esteem, poverty and crime.
Western New York Book Arts Collaborative Members Exhibition is the city's newest non-profit cultural site.
