Mayoral Race Heats Up

Mayoral Race Heats Up
The Democratic primary battle between Mayor Byron Brown and Mickey Kearns has intensified, as everyone knows, and the latest poll has the race at a virtual dead heat.  And this poll was conducted last Wednesday and Thursday before the latest allegations regarding Mayor Brown and Leonard Stokes.  The poll's validity, which was conducted by SurveyUSA on behalf of WGRZ, has some questions but it stands as the only quasi-scientific publicly available data point on candidate support.

The candidates provided the expected responses to the polling data. Mayor Brown said "I don't think those numbers are accurate," while Mickey Kearns said "There's no way you can spin it, that we are in this race and this race is a dead heat."

Now, we've used our weekly poll to attempt to measure the Brown - Kearns race before.  And we had some very unusual activity.

With only 5 days left until the primary, we thought we'd switch our weekly poll to try and gauge candidate support yet again.

So tell us - who are you going to vote for?

Left out of the poll equation is the fear tactics of the Brown administration. City workers have been scheduled time to"volunteer". Businesses with signs have received phone calls. So if the survey was done by phone = advantage Mickey.

Consider these facts:
Before Byron Brown, Buffalo only had 2 mayors over 28 years.
It's pretty hard NOT to win re-election.
Add to that a $1.3 million war chest, running against a first term Council member, with only $100k . . . And it's a "dead heat" ?????

Kearns was right, this is historic . . . an historic MELTDOWN.
How bad does Brown have to be to have all this blow up in his face?

If anyone has been paying ANY attention to our smug Mayor and his criminal antics, Kearns should win in a landslide. Brown thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and that no one else is paying attention. The waterfront hotel project alone should get him bounced out of office....or was that the poverty funds? One Sunset debacle? Michelle Barron and BERC? Brian Davis (we could spend all day on that loser). Take to the streets people...THE TIME TO CHANGE BUFFALO IS NOW (more like SEPT. 15TH).

I'm sure city workers have also been scheduled time to 'volunteer' voting for Brown in the BR web poll, much like every other poll involving Brown in the past.

ya'll need to review where Kearns is getting his money. unlike your candidate or his companion Rivera, I'm dealing in facts. You do know how to look up the candidates contributions on line don't you?

Cutler, you are paid public servant on official business of the mayor - not a campaign manager. You are wasting our tax dollars to be blogging here at 10am.

Kearns would have my vote, except I'm still registered republican for the presidential primary and I forgot to switch it over.
I'm normally an Independent.
