October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and purple is the official color adopted by the cause. For this reason, Electric Tower owners, Iskalo Development, have generously offered bathe the tower in purple lights, beginning at dusk on September 30th, until dawn on October 1st.
This will also signal the coming of A New stART, an art show and auction to benefit the Family Justice Center of Erie County (FJC) and victims of domestic violence. It will take place from 5:30 to 8:30PM on Thursday, October 22nd, at Asbury Hall at The Church, 341 Delaware Avenue.
The Family Justice Center relies heavily on donations and proceeds from events like A New stART to fund its many programs which help victims of domestic violence and their children, and believes that the lighting of the Electric Tower will draw attention to these victims and the art show and auction that benefits them through the FJC.
A New stART Tickets are $35 and include
admission to the show/auction, wine tastings, hors d'oeuvres and live music. See artwork being offered for auction here. Tickets may be purchased at www.anewstartbuffalo.com or by calling 716.558.5281. Works
from over a dozen local artists will be up for auction.
