Two Great Tastes, One Great Place: Snack Shack Mashes Up with Quaker Bonnet
All you Snack Shackers had better take note: The guru of the wrap on Allen, Mark Bauer, has moved his act down the street to a new venue.  Snack Shack has melded with Quaker Bonnet Eatery, offering patrons the best of both worlds.
"We have a whole new menu," Bauer says.  "We have Liz's sandwiches, my wraps, some Mexicali, Snack Shack green salads, early dinner and appetizers four nights a week, Sunday brunch...and wifi!  Oh, yeah, and Quaker Bonnet has a beer and wine license, so we've got that too."  Sounds like a nice marriage of efforts.
Bauer says it was hard to leave "my little ball of bliss" down the street, but he sees great opportunities for his Snack Shack fare and his younger demographic in conjunction with Liz Kolken's

Does Your Office Have Vision?
Photography, when executed properly, can create emotion or aggrandize its subject.

The CEPA Gallery on Main Street contains an incredible collection of photography from local, national, and international artists.  They offer great exhibits at their headquarters, but you can also find more examples of their collection at various Buffalo businesses.

That's right - for example, in the Cobblestone District lobby of 95

Following a joint announcement made by Mayor Byron Brown and County Executive Chris Collins that the City of Buffalo would take control of the City's six Olmsted Parks by the end of the year, Olmsted Conservancy CEO Thomas Herrera-Mishler fears that care of the parks will be taken out of the conservancy's hands, and will be holding a press conference at 10AM this morning at the Delaware Park Marcy Casino to garner support. A Boy and His (Stolen) Bike
We know a stolen bicycle isn't big news in the big city, and judging by reader reaction to a post we once put up about some cats that were lost and in need of meds in Allentown, we were reluctant to post this plea.  But come on, 17 years with the same bike?  That's a long time.
And thievery, especially where it concerns someone's dedication to bicycling, thus reducing their carbon footprint, plainly pisses us off.  Plus, wouldn't it feel good to spot this bike and be the one who helped get it back to its rightful owner?
So here

Ben Folds and the BPO
Who wouldn't love Ben Folds?  Whether it's his lyrics or his interviews, Folds is one of those individuals who uses words to their maximum level, adroitly. His music is the happy platform on which his words rest, though Folds' piano-playing has sometimes been likened to a contact sport.
Acerbic and ironic, Folds, who is a classically trained percussionist, has performed with orchestras across the world, from Australia to Boston.  We'll have the pleasure of hosting him with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, at Kleinhans Music Hall on October 8th, at 8PM.

Have your Pet Blessed
It was a big party last year, on the Feast Day of St. Francis, when I gathered with about 30 animals and their people, seeking blessings for the pets.

We will celebrate again this year, on Sunday Oct 4, at 1PM, at Lafayette Presbyterian Church. The Church, located at 875 Elmwood Avenue at Lafayette.  We'll have a short reading of scripture, a reflection on who St.Francis was, and how his love for animals was rooted in the divine, and end with individual
