Buffalo Rising Traffic Update: January - July 2009
As you may have noticed, we periodically update our readers on BuffaloRising.com traffic. We've taken the time to assemble a traffic review of the first seven months of 2009 - it sheds some interesting light on local internet traffic trends and larger internet trends.

Why does Buffalo Rising continue to make a mockery of the "Lady in White" whether in photographs or "best of.." articles. She clearly has some sort of serious allergy to the sun. I just don't get it.

kjsmith4ub, I'm pretty sure it was Artvoice that featured her in their "Best of" issue. Nevertheless, I agree that it was exploitive to use her picture at BRO for an article that has nothing to do with her.

By 'nothing to do with her' you mean she's listed in the article in the search terms that drove traffic to the site?

If people were searching for naked McKinley HS cheerleaders at BRO, does that mean that BRO has to post a picture of them?

Yeah, It was Artvoice, and I agree it is exploitive. Leave the lady be.

Yes, you are right. I got caught in the moment of frustration. Artvoice published her as one of the weirdest people I believe (though to be fair, they were probably just staying true to the votes). I just know that if I were her I would feel like a freak in my own community. She should not have to feel that way. Besides...there are plenty of people in the Allentown area besides her who we could define as "weird by choice." So next time you see her on the street, give her some flowers or something, she deserves them.

You'd think she'd choose a color other than white though. I mean, right? I don't know if this article pokes fun at her- does it? Anyways, it's good to see that there's a community behind this website!
BRO should do an article on local "celebrities" in Buffalo. iPod man, yelling lady, lady in white, that dude that sits outside of buff state, etc. It would be interesting to get interviews with them and actually get an inside story.

My friends and I were just talking about that yesterday. That would be a great article

There is a homeless man who lives in Williamsville he has VERY long hair that is matted his hair doubles as a pillow he has been called Ned The Head he burst out with a loud yell quite often which scares those around him. A few years ago a local newspaper decided to interview this man because.....Well I don't really know why but he was asked a bunch of ridicules questions one stupid question was " what do you do when it rains outside? "......Ned's answer was " I go inside ".

I always want to sneak up on the lady in white with a spray bottle filled with blue ink and squirt her back.

I don't. But I'd really like to.

Well, that would be cruel - and probably considered an assault.

Irene (that's her name) rented from my friends on Main St, 20 years ago. Her white obsession was just beginning then; she has some severe emotional problems, but was and probably still is a very nice person.
