My recent post and slide show on Buffalo's West Village Neighborhood generated a great deal of buzz with many inquiries including one from the National Trust for Preservation. The National Trust is holding their 2011 annual convention in Buffalo which has piqued their interest in the city's great wealth of historic architecture and its preservation issues.
A few weeks ago the Trust posted this compelling video beautifully documenting one small piece of Buffalo's urban decay.
The video is gorgeous but focuses on the one of the city's persistent negative aspects. Since that video aired the Trust determined that they also need to present Buffalo's very real positive side. They became aware of the Buffalorising.com story on the West Village and asked if they could republish some of the slide show images on their magazine web site. Needless to say we said yes. You can see the slide show here.

Why doesn't Preservation Buffalo Niagara's Chair - Catherine Schweitzer - support the land marking of the Queen City's Davidson and Heath Houses? Inquiring minds want to know.
Now that you mention it....
Foundation dollars are good for many things, and one of them is buying silence. Which is why it looks fishy for BRO and Artvoice to have both ducked this story. I doubt either receives Baird Foundation funding via Schweitzer, so what's the deal?
