Buffalo's Newest Makeup Artist: Torry

Buffalo’s Newest Makeup Artist: Torry

Buffalo's Allen Street district recently welcomed the addition of Mirror Mirror, a hip new makeup studio, to the many specialty shops and entertainment pastimes the area has to offer.

Makeup artist and owner, Torry, has been in the cosmetic business for over six years as a former esthetician and make-up artist of the Excuria Spa on Main Street in Williamsville, and also an employee of Sephora and Estee Lauder. His dream of opening his own studio came true only a few weeks ago, making him the first African-American make-up artist in Western New York.

The 400 square foot studio, with trendy green walls and purple floors, offers airbrushing techniques and makeup parties where everyday makeup trends and/or glamour makeup can be demonstrated. Parties can enjoy catered food while watching Torry makeover members of the group with fun and dramatic trendy styles.

The neat thing about this particular studio is the unusual business hours that work around traditional office hours, so one doesn't have to tap into vacation time or a lunch break to enjoy some pampering. The studio is open Thursday from 9AM to midnight, Friday from 6PM to 9PM, Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 9PM. All other days are open by appointment only.

This fall, Torry will be premiering his very own cosmetic line, and be sure to look for articles of his here from time to time, as he shares his wealth of style knowledge.

For more information about this all this new studio has to offer call 716.524.0999, or visit the studio on Allen Street across from Gabriel's Gate.

We welcome this unique shop to Allentown. It is kind of a hard to rent space and we are glad this business has decided to offer it's services in our neighborhood. GOOD LUCK, TORRY
