Buffalo's best local artist market is moving outdoors for the summer season! The move should help draw some more attention to the local art scene here in Buffalo.
Some savvy shoppers may recall the market from its previous venue at the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery, where it was open every second Sunday of the month.
The 2009 Buffalo Indie Artists Outdoor Market is kicking off its new open air incarnation at Bidwell Parkway as a signature event of Buffalo Homecoming on Saturday, June 27th.
The market will then head to the Erie Canal Harbor in July where on the 11th and 12th, Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. and Buffalo Place will be bringing a summer long local artist market. It is the hope of Buffalo Place and Buffalo Indie Market to make this a summer signature event for the Erie Canal Harbor each year.
The market will come back to the Elmwood Village on July 25th and 26th at Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church, which is also the weekend of the Buffalo Garden Walk. Hey, you're already out for a stroll...
The Buffalo Indie Market is focused on keeping show costs low for artists while bringing them a high level of exposure, and this summer the market is offering members a $27 show fee.

Buffalo Indie Market plans to return indoors in October of 2009 at Pearl Street Grill and Brewery. Applications for the fall/winter schedule will be available at the end of June 2009.

The Buffalo Indie Market will be the second ever public appearance by the "Born in Buffalo" t-shirt team. We're excited to take part. We were a bit overwhelmed at Allentown West and we promise to have enough shirts in stock at this event.
