BCFC Nears Playoffs

BCFC Nears Playoffs
As we said in last week's article about the BCFC Summer soccer clinics, the team is nearing the playoffs with the toughest part of the schedule ahead of them.

After dropping their first loss to the Erie Admirals on June 13th, the team hoped to rebound and defeat them on June 20th.  It was not to be.

After goaltender Bobby Shuttleworth's departure following his contract with the New England Revolution of the MLS, coach Mike Share called up Nick Fetterman.  Marc Stencel also returned from injury.

Fetterman started off strong, but in the 15th minute, misplayed a shot that bounced off his chest and onto the foot of an Erie attacker, putting the score at 1-0.  BCFC missed several goal opportunities, and Fetterman regained his game, making key saves, giving the team the chance to get back into the match.

Despite some coaching moves made by Share, the team was unable to rebound, and lost the match 2-0, dropping them into second place with a 5-0-2 record.

BCFC has three matches left, two of which at home, before the playoffs.  Be there to check out the team as they push for the playoffs, currently sitting in second place.
