Fera's, a downtown lunchtime institution, has opened in the Washington/ East Huron corner of the building (see back story). That means that we all get to enjoy the brilliant makeover! When we stopped in for lunch today it was standing room only. Not to say that it is that busy everyday, though the people that we spoke to say that the reception has been tremendous. These days, downtowners have plenty of options when it comes to great food located in inspiring buildings. I really hope that the Electric Tower management follows the same recipe when it comes to the rest of the street level commercial storefronts.

I walked around the building and looked at the rest of the potential and all I can say is, 'Wow'. I have a feeling that lunch-goers are going to be coming from far and wide to grab a bite at this location. Subs, salads, wraps, melts, soups, sandwiches... Fera's even serves light breakfast foods and coffee from 7am to 10:30am. Lunch service ends at 3pm, so that gives people plenty of time to relax in style and comfort.
If you're taking any architectural tours of the city, you must add the Electric Tower to your list... right around lunchtime!
Fera's Electric Tower Café is located at 535 Washington Street | Buffalo, NY | Monday - Friday | 716-855-4663 | Delivery

That's one Buffaloism that has always confused me; restaurants and bars with both the owner's name and another name. You know, names like Salvatore's Italian Gardens, Dino's Bocce Club Pizzeria, Bob and John's La Hacienda, Vince's Village Grille, Tony Rome's Globe Hotel, and so on. It's a naming trend that died out in the rest of the country decades ago. It's quaint, but confusing. If I'm telling someone to meet me there, am I supposed to call it "Fera's", "The Electric Tower Cafe", "Fera's Electric", or something else?
It's good to have another place to eat downtown, though.
You need to travel more, this is all over the place, and not worth complaining about.
I can't wait to try this place
