Roaming Buffaloes Adventure Club hosted a Kickoff Happy Hour at Flying Bison Brewing Company on Ontario Street in Buffalo, last Friday, March 27 at 6:00 pm.
Kevin McCarthy provided the soundtrack to the evening during which members and guests got to sample such beers as Flying Bison's "Aviator Red," "Barnstormer Pale Ale," and" Blackbird Oatmeal Stout," among other delicious microbrews.
Jeff Empric, founder of Roaming Buffaloes Adventure Club, was very pleased with the overall success of the club's inaugural event, saying "We are thrilled to have such a diverse group of members. It was a great turnout for our first event. The excitement everyone is showing about this group and our schedule of upcoming adventures is better then we could have ever hoped for."
The group picked up additional members at the happy hour, bringing the current membership total to a respectable one hundred fifty two. One hundred seventy two people attended the party, at which the club raffled off over $2500 in prizes including a 2009 Jamis Citizen 2 Bicycle valued at $540.00, and a 26" LCD Flat Screen TV valued at $498.00.
Coming up this Wednesday is the April Fools 5K Run starting at the Swannie House Bar and Eatery at 170 Ohio St. in Buffalo at 6:00 pm, also free to all members. Any one interested in learning more about the club is also welcome to attend.
Overall there was a lot of great beer to be had, friends to be made, and plans to be laid out as the Roaming Buffaloes Adventure Club prepares for a full calendar of events for 2009. Don't miss out on the next big event. For details and to join visit Roamingbuffaloes.com.
