Fera's Bolts to Electric Tower

Fera’s Bolts to Electric Tower

Fera's Café is relocating from the Market Arcade in the Theater District.  A lunchtime tradition in Western New York since the 1960's when John Fera opened his first sub shop, Fera's is moving to the atrium of the historic Electric Tower located at 535 Washington Street.

"The Electric Tower is the perfect place for us to carry on Fera's traditions," says Sue Priamo, the proprietor of Fera's.  "The level of quality and detail that went into restoring this historic building is a match for the Fera's brand because we hold the same high standard for the food we prepare and service we provide. I think it will be a great place to call home."

"We're excited to have Fera's coming to the historic Electric Tower," Paul Iskalo, president and CEO, Iskalo Development Corp., said. "Their presence will serve to activate the Electric Tower's grand, two-story lobby. With its various seating niches along the lobby's many windows and availability of wireless internet, the addition of Fera's will offer tenants and guests a wonderful space rich in natural light and architectural detail in which to work, meet, dine or simply relax."

Fera's Electric Tower Café is scheduled to open in April.  Until that time, Fera's will continue with its operations at the Market Arcade building.

The Electric Tower, located at 535 Washington Street, was acquired by Iskalo Development from Niagara Mohawk in 2004. Iskalo has returned the property to its original grandeur, starting with the restoration and reconstruction of the two-story lobby space and the build-out of tenant office suites. The building was rededicated in August 2007.

Sometimes one of the saddest aspects of seeing a building renovated is knowing that the general public can not participate first hand in the transformation. Of course we can all look up and see a beautiful building standing in its glory, but what about... Read More

Iskalo deserves this. Every time I walk into this building I am stunned by the transformation. Fera's is a class act and will be a great fit there.

Fera's has great food and a friendly staff, but I'm disappointed they're moving. My three second walk from work in the statler to Fera's for lunch was quite convinient.

Does anyone know what Ellicott Development is doing with the building at W. Mohawk and Franklin? Looks like there has been some work going on...

It is helpful to get news of new/moving eateries. I make a point of going to new locations and have an excuse to enter buildings I might have no other business being in.

Good to know that they moved because I often went to this location and the next time I was downtown for lunch and walked by to NOT find them I would have been at a lose. Alas it isn't new development but still none the less important news to inform people of.
