Bills and T.O. Debut on Monday Night Football

Bills and T.O. Debut on Monday Night Football
This just in from NFL headquarters. . .

The Bills decision to sign T.O. is paying immediate dividends . . . at least in terms of exposure for the team.  For the 40th anniversary season of Monday Night Football, the first Monday night game of the year will be the Buffalo Bills visiting Foxboro to play the New England Patriots.

Edwards and T.O. will be in Foxboro for Tom Brady's return, and the nation will have the chance to tune in to watch.  More details here

And if you're worried about what you're going to wear to watch T.O's debut game, one of the local Buffalo sports t shirt companies has already rolled out a T.O. shirt.  Get your popcorn ready indeed.

Plugging a great pessimistic reaction from WGR:

Who else is excited about starting 0-1 with Vince Wilfork looking to injure our QB in game 1???!!!

Bill Belichick now has 6 months to prepare for the Bills!

We're screwed!!!

Clearly the TO move was to drum up interest north of the border.

That said, I can live with 2 Bills games in Canada. Totally cool - but. . .

Toronto should provide a reciprocal arraignment for the Jays or the Raptors (assuming anyone will want to watch them). Both baseball and basketball have long seasons (not like football, by the way). Nobody in TO will even miss 4 or 5 games.

Come on, why are we giving away the Bills for 2 games and getting absolutely nothing in return?

T.O. trains in Miami in the off-season he has since he was in San Fran with Jerry Rice. The work-outs are not mandatory. Their are a number of NFL players that train at the same facility in Miami. We don't have to worry about him being in game time shape, he knows what he has to do.

Do you know anything about him? He is filming a VH1 show here, and he has past Buffalo ties being good friends with Eric Moulds. People are so quick to jump to conclusions and write someone off due to previous events. This is a new beginning for us and TO we should treat it like one, if he fucs up and makes waves then it is what it is. Pessimism does nothing for anyone, be optimistic because last year once Marshawn broke the goal line for the first time most of us forgot about his off season actions.

Al, great thought, but keep dreamin....Toronto doesn't have to reciprocate because they are bot a dying city.

Having said that, Patriots will embarrass us on National TV for the game opener...not a good way to start off the season.

TO or not, Bills are below average team.

I think this being a Monday Night game has everything to do with it being the Patriots and Tom Brady's first game back. TO throwing a temper tantrum on the sidelines after they are down 30 points and he realizes what a long year he is in store for is just icing on the cake for ESPN. I'll be shocked if the guy makes it through the season. Pretty desparate move getting him. Anyone who feels that the Bills are not gone from Buffalo the second Wilson dies is in a state of denial.

To anyone who says TO dooms the Bills I pose this question to you: "How much worse can he make it?" Are we really that worried about him disrupting our frail team chemistry? That team chemistry didn't get us to the playoffs last year. Are Trent Edwards' fragile feelings going to be irreparably destroyed if Owens goes bad? (were McNabb's or Garcia's?) No. He really can't hurt us much. Its not like we were making the playoffs without him. We werent considered a threat to win the Superbowl or even make the playoffs this upcoming season. So if he goes bad and it doesn't work then who cares? We cut our losses and move on. We all need to relax and stop feeding the hype. Were still a half-year away from opening day.
