Ben & Jerry's, Move Over
Comments
Leave a commentHey guys, My Fair City's on a lake, too...would love to be able to buy this here. Pretty please -- with ice cream on top--?
I imagine Ben & Jerry's is a good model to follow. I'm not sure who owns the company anymore or how local it is today. Something that I've always admired was the design of every aspect of its brand identity. Its a label that went global but embedded so much local identity into itself that it continues to spread a good message about the ingenuity and awareness of Vermonters.
It would be great if there was some kind of small business incubator set up that could set up the more promising small business efforts on the right track with smart marketing advice, graphic design, web design etc. "Lake Effect" is a good name. Good Luck.
Maybe it would be a good touch if a portion of the procedes went to a specific local cause. arts education? perhaps
not so fast, let them start to turn a profit before suggesting they donate proceeds.
For anyone heading farther north, it's also available in Newfane at Salmon Ridge Mercantile - http://tinyurl.com/salmonridge
Hey everyone!
Thanks for the great comments and feedback we greatly appreciate it! Just a few clarifications. We currently donate ice cream locally but are intending on contributing more frequently as our business grows. I also wanted to mention that we stock ice cream at Salmon Ridge Mercantile (in Newfane) during the late spring and summer months. We are currently not on the shelves at Salmon Ridge.
Thanks also to James Karagiannis for the great email on possibly including our ice cream in your cool ice creamcycles (no pun intended). We are seriously looking at this and hope this will happen this summer, we will be in touch this week.
If anyone has any flavor suggestions or possible location ideas please let us know at info@lakeeffecticecream.com
Or let us know here!
Thanks again,
Jason and Erik
Mr. Wulf and Mr. B,
This is really awesome that you guys finally started selling ice cream. Heather Lewis sent me a link to this page. I can't wait to get my hands on some banana pancake ice cream. Mmmmmm. Good luck with your new business! I'll have to stop by and show you some of my latest work Mr. Wulf.
