What's even better is that Justin Booth of Go! Buffalo tells me that more racks on the way. The Rusty Chain fundraiser last week netted another couple of grand to add to the pot, and Flying Bison continues to crank out barrels of Rusty Chain beer. According to Tim Herzog at Flying Bison, Try-It Distributing is now handling the account, which means that the beer will not only stay in production, the distribution can now be taken to an even wider area. And there's even more good news for cyclists. Justin has just informed me that there's a bigger push underway from The City and Go! Buffalo:
"Green Options Buffalo, in partnership with the City of Buffalo, has secured $100,000 for the Commercial District Bicycle Parking Program. That will allow approximately another 178 bike racks to be manufactured and installed."
The good news just keeps coming. It would be nice to see a bigger push from the private sector to join the cause. When it comes to buying into the idea of allowing employees to lock their bikes up at work, many companies just don't get it. They don't get the environmental and health benefits, and they don't see that a younger generation of workers is looking for signs that the workplace is coming around to seeing a different type of green.

Great news. I noticed a few rings and a rack or two being installed on Hertel last week. Good stuff. Regarding 100k secured for 178 new racks, thats great news as well, however does that mean each of the racks are manufactured and sold for 560 dollars each?
