The 2nd Cup: Java, Jazz, Art and More
Yesterday the ribbon was cut, tonight there's going to be some jazz with Pappy Martin's Love Supreme & Friends (and some jamming if you're up to it - bring your book) and on the 2nd of April, the walls will be hung with local artist Paul Melohusky's photography.

In one of the best, and in the recent past, underused buildings in Buffalo, the 2nd Cup isn't just a coffee house; it's a coffee ha-ouse. The right way. Why do we think this is going to be the most happening little restaurant/coffee house/weekly jazz venue in the City of Buffalo?
The building was featured in the Charles Burchfield painting Rainy Night, and new owners Will and Kat Tyler were able to open it up through the help of a Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation (BERC) loan of $50K for working capital, machinery and equipment. They also received $25K through a Small Business Matching Grant program for furniture and fixtures.
Also owners of the MT Coffee Cup in Hamlin Park, the Tylers offer specialty teas, coffees, treats, breakfast dinner and catering services. The arty little restaurant can also be rented out for parties and events.
As a reward for taking the chance on the business and giving Buffalo and its visitors the ability to walk into the scene of a Burchfield painting - enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes there - we hope Will and Kat are able to take their earnings as black as a cup of espresso in record time.

Good food, good staff, and real nice dining area.
Look forward to my next visit.

I went here a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The food selection is pretty large... and desserts include mini sweet potato pies! I will be sure to stop in and see the photo exhibit.
