This Week In Memorable Local Commercials: EG Tax

This Week In Memorable Local Commercials: EG Tax
Local advertising is...unique.  With smaller budgets, local advertisers have to try to do more with less.  And the particular geographic location doesn't matter - local commercials are always. . . unique.

To celebrate our own local advertising adventures, we're introducing a periodic series focused on local ads.  Sure, some might quibble with the production quality of these local efforts, but at least they're memorable.  If you hum the tune to any local jingle in public, anyone within earshot will chime in.  It's kind of like when "Sweet Caroline" comes on in a bar.

This week, we bring you a true gem from last year.  This time of year, no one - and we mean no one - can escape the EG Tax Service commercials.  In last year's epic spot, EG attempts to poke fun at the only two certainties in life: death and taxes.

If you plan on killing yourself in Niagara Falls, do you wear a diving mask and flippers?

Don't worry!  We've got plenty more local gold where that came from.

It's nice to see a lighter topic discussed. It's quite entertaining. I forgot how many "unique" local commercials I've seen that put a smile on my face. There are some awful commercials out there that I'd love to see again. Some are nostalgic of a Sabres playoff run and others are burned into my memory haunting me with horrible production quality and even worse jingles. Nice work Dan. I smiled.

My friend Brad. He and his wife have been in their commercials for a few years. They're the couple in the living room with the fireplace this year. Brad teaches shop at a local high school.

B2W,

Im glad im not the only one who noticed that. How about that shutting off the lights to save money is sign of financial desperation?

Have those guys or moused around on the internets lately and see what the world is like recently? Admittedly, Earthlink does take a while to dial-up.

The strong Buffalo accent in these ads makes us laugh every time............"Hi - I'm Kee-athy from Endependent Halth".

I agree with Buffalo2Wheeler. Because of the bike commercial, I will never, ever use this company's services. Idiots.
