Foss Concert and More at RendezBlue

Foss Concert and More at RendezBlue
Long before last Sunday's death of Lukas Foss, the former Buffalo Philharmonic Conductor was to be celebrated during this year's RendezBlue Festival at the new Burchfield-Penney Arts Center on the Buffalo State campus. In fact, the theme of the festival, Time Cycle, was inspired by Foss' landmark composition.  The musicians involved, including Charles Haupt, not only had occasion to work closely with Foss, but flutist Carol Wincenc will be playing a composition written specifically for her by Foss, entitled "Renaissance Concerto".

The festival begins on Thursday, February 5th and runs through Sunday the 8th, the day on which the Foss concert will be presented by A Musical Feast.  Time Cycle will combine art, music, presentations, film and various performances, celebrating the worldwide impact of Western New York artists.
