Larry Griffis's Energy Weave sculpture for the Rigidized Metals Corporation is finally complete. "I feel good about the concept to the final piece. It took just a little bit over a year to do. I didn't get time to really celebrate it, but after I got home, it'll be like 'wow that piece is really done now.'"
Since the building is on the waterfront, the piece has to withstand even more weathering than most other pieces. "There are three mechanisms for the back of each piece." The sculpture looks amazing - for more of Larry Griffis's works of art, be sure to check out his upcoming show at Art Space. The show opens 2/20.
