Art + Beer = PEEPSHOW 2009

Art + Beer = PEEPSHOW 2009

Squeaky Wheel presents its largest art happening of the year, PEEPSHOW: A Secret Worth Keeping, from 8PM-2AM on Saturday, February 21st at DNIPRO Ukrainian Cultural Center (562 Genesee Street).

The event is two-fold: an art party and a fundraiser. The two-level venue will host live music, dancing, cutting-edge art installations, a video screening room and performances. A silent auction will also be held, featuring art from some of the best artists in the region. Squeaky Wheel is touting an amazing selection of beer on top of it all.

The PEEPSHOW includes installations from over 30 artists from
Rochester, New York City, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Alfred, Columbus and Buffalo, and their work in various forms. Art at the show will take the form of interactive 3-D video installations, media art, large-scale art projections and sculpture.

The Skiffle Minstrels
musical group will open the night. Kendall, the "Big Gay Bear" and hip-hopper extraordinaire will also take the stage with his unreal (and sometimes shocking) sense of humor. The one-woman hipnotic electronic dance musician, Bev-Beverly, will also take the stage with her hula hoop dancer, H^3.

There will be an on-stage belly dancing lesson, an exclusive Drag Show put on by the Queens of Club Marcella, and a comical burlesque troupe by The Stripteasers.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Squeaky Wheel. Tickets ($12 pre-sale/$15 at the door) are available at Squeaky Wheel, Rust Belt Books, Talking Leaves, Positively Main Street and also online.
